Signing Up for American States Water Company Bill Center

Adding Your First Biller Account

Now it's time to set up your first biller so that you can begin paying bills using American States Water Company Bill Center.

Your biller may offer different types of accounts, and, therefore, you might have the choice to set up several e-bills. For example, if the biller you are setting up is a phone company, you may have different accounts for different services, such as a local phone service account and an Internet service account. You can add multiple e-bills from your biller as long as you have unique account numbers for each bill.

When you finish setting up your first biller, we will check to see if there is an e-bill available for you to pay and let you know immediately what your payment options are.

Steps To add a biller:

  1. If the Select Your E-bills page opens, select the name of the account you want to set up from the list and click Continue.
    Note: The Select Your E-bills page does not appear if the biller does not offer multiple accounts.
  2. In Account Number, type your biller account number exactly as it appears on your current bill.
  3. In Confirm Account Number, retype your account number.
  4. In Biller ZIP Code, type the biller's ZIP Code and 4-digit extension.
  5. In Birth Date, select the month, day, and year you were born from the lists.
  6. In Home Phone Number, type your 10-digit home telephone number (area code and seven-digit phone number).
  7. If you want to receive notification from the biller about new products and services that could benefit you, make sure that the check box to receive e-mail notifications from the biller is selected.
    Note: Selecting or clearing this check box does not affect your receipt of e-bill summaries. We send you e-bill summaries no matter what notification option you select with regard to additional products and services.
  8. In the Service Address Information section, type the name of the person on the account with the biller, and then enter the address where the biller provides the service you are paying for. Usually, this is your name and home address, but it could be a vacation home or the name and address of a relative whose bills you help to pay.
    Note: If the service address is your home address, make sure the This address is also my home address check box is selected.
  9. Click Add.
    A page confirming that you have successfully set up the biller account, and therefore completed the sign-up process, opens.
  10. Click Continue.
    The E-bills page opens, and you can see the biller account you just set up. In the Status box, you can see your payment options for the biller.

Why Do I Need a Sign-in ID and Password?

We recommend that you set up at least one payment account to use to pay your bills, but it is not mandatory; you can always provide your payment account information when you make your first payment.

You can make payments from multiple bank accounts, including checking accounts, money market accounts, and brokerage accounts. To set up payment accounts, click the My Profile link on the left side of the page, and then click the Payment Account link in the My Profile window.

From now on, when you start American States Water Company Bill Center you will come to your E-bill page first. The E-bill page is where you make payments and check the status of your accounts. From the E-bill page:

To add more biller accounts click the Add E-bills link on the left side of the page
To add a bank account so you can pay bills click the My Profile link on the left side of the page, then click Payment Accounts
To change your sign-in ID or password click the My Profile link on the left side of the page
To send us a question or report a problem click the Messages link on the left side of the page
To find out if your payment was sent to the biller on time click the Payment Activity link on the left side of the page
To send a payment to a single biller click the Make Payment link next to the name of the biller
To send payments to more than one biller click the Select to Pay check box next to all the billers you want to pay, and then click the Pay All Selected button at the bottom of the page
